Airplay was also the only way to use gaming on a Roku TV during our testing – although it’s important to note that this might not necessarily work for all games and iPhones since this depends on both the game and the version of iPhone you have. If you have an older model iPhone, you may find that some games won’t work properly or at all due to compatibility issues.

In order to use screen mirroring from your mobile phone (whether it’s an Android or iPhone) to your Roku TV, both devices must be connected by either WiFi or wireless connection.

As mentioned earlier (Once connected) they need each other’s authentication keys exchanged – essentially proving they can talk securely between one another – before you can start streaming content from one device onto the other’s smartphone screen via Airplay 2.
